Giving Plans

How enrollment, billing, cancellation, and refunds will work once the platform launches.

Not yet available. 50Two is not accepting enrollments or contributions. The terms below describe the program as it will operate after the IRS issues its determination on 50Two’s application for recognition of exemption. The full Giving Plan Terms and Conditions will be published here, and presented at enrollment, before the platform opens.

What a Giving Plan is

A Giving Plan is a charitable donation to 50Two Inc. It is not a purchase, a subscription to a service, a deposit, or a prepayment. Every payment is a single, completed, unconditional gift to 50Two at the moment it is processed. Donors receive no goods or services in exchange. All of 50Two’s educational content is free and public for everyone, and Giving Plan participants receive nothing exclusive.

Plan amounts

Plans are expressed as $1 per week over a fixed term. The full plan amount for the whole term, plus processing-cost coverage, is charged in one payment at enrollment. It is not charged weekly.

PlanBase amountProcessing-cost coverageTotal charged per term
12-Week Giving Plan$12.00$0.67$12.67
52-Week Giving Plan$52.00$1.86$53.86

Processing-cost coverage is a required amount added to every charge to approximately cover third-party payment processing costs (currently 2.9% of the transaction plus $0.30). It is calculated and shown before a donor confirms. The full amount charged, including coverage, is the donation and is the amount stated on the donor’s receipt.

Automatic renewal

A Giving Plan renews automatically at the end of each term for another term of the same length, at the same total amount, until the donor cancels. 50Two will send a reminder email at least seven days before each renewal charge stating the amount, the date, and how to cancel.

Cancellation

Donors will be able to cancel at any time, at no charge, either online in their account settings or by email. Online cancellations take effect immediately. Email cancellations take effect within one business day. Cancelling stops all future renewal charges.

Refunds

Because every payment is a completed charitable gift when it is processed, contributions are not refundable. Cancelling stops future renewals only. The exceptions are a refund required by applicable law, or a payment that 50Two determines resulted from a verified billing error or an unauthorized transaction. A donor who believes a charge was made in error should contact 50Two within 60 days of the charge.

Where the money goes

Giving Plan contributions are received into a fund that 50Two’s Board has designated for charitable grantmaking. The Board determines each week’s grant under a formula in its Grantmaking Policy, computed from 50Two’s aggregate receipts over the preceding twelve weeks, subject to a grant cap, a minimum disbursement threshold, and Board approval in every case. No portion of any donation is assigned, credited, or traced to any week or any organization. Enrolling during an organization’s feature week is not a way to support that organization. Donors have no right to direct, recommend, or influence any grant.

Tax receipts

For each contribution, 50Two will email a written acknowledgment stating the amount, the date, 50Two’s name and EIN, and that no goods or services were provided in exchange. Whether contributions are deductible depends on the outcome of 50Two’s pending application and on the donor’s own circumstances. 50Two does not provide tax advice.

Eligibility

Donors must be at least 18 years old, reside in the United States, and have the legal capacity to make a charitable gift.
